FAQ

How much is a session?
Our sessions cost just £25. Sessions will be just under 30 minutes to allow for cleaning, disinfecting and record keeping.

When can I get booked in?
At present we have sessions on Monday afternoons/evenings but please call or email info@tadcasterphysio.co.uk for availability.

Are you Covid secure?
Although sports massage has been paused we have been providing hands on Physio for the majority of the pandemic. We have a number of protocols and procedures in place which you will be sent prior to your appointment. This will cover everything in great detail but rest assured full PPE will be work (masks, gown, potentially gloves), bed covers are single use paper and everything is washed down and disinfected in between appointments.

What should I wear?
Ideally wear something loose fitting and/or shorts although it is likely that a degree of undressing will be required to work on particular body parts. You can be well covered in towels and patients are welcome to get changed in the clinic room before and after treatments. You may wish to bring your own towel. We ask at this time that you wear a mask for the duration of the time you are in the building (unless you have a medical exemption).

Will it be painful?
The level of pressure and depth of massage will be regulated by your therapist depending on your problem, comfort level and personal preferences. You are encouraged to give feedback throughout your session. Please let the therapist know if you have an event coming up or if you have a specific niggle as special consideration will be given to how you will feel afterwards.

Are your massage therapists insured?
Yes, fully insured for professional liability up to £5,000,000.

Can I claim money back from Health Cash Plan companies, etc.?
Millie holds VTCT level 3 and 4 as well as a degree in Sports Therapy. Most cash plan companies recognise these qualifications and should reimburse on sessions (depending on the type of plan you have). To be certain please check with your individual provider. A printed receipt can be forwarded on to you for claims purposes with all of this information included.

What if I have a more in-depth problem?
As this service is a sports massage service this does not include any assessment or any diagnostic testing. If you have a more long-standing or complicated problem it is recommended that you have an in-depth physiotherapy assessment. This should seek to provide more of an insight into ‘whats and whys’ as well as including sounder based advice and exercise.

If you would like a sports massage first to see if this can help your symptoms then we are more than happy to accommodate this as we know that not everyone wants a physiotherapy assessment. Therapists will work closely in order to develop on-going dialogue we believe that our patients will gain more from a joined up approach that a multi-disciplinary clinic has to offer.

Please call the clinic directly if you have any further questions or to book an appointment.

Meet the therapists…

Millie Bell

I graduated from York College where I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy, achieving a 2:1.

I have competed in four piece and team-gym gymnastics for 12 years at regional and national level, a highlight of which was training in Italy and Gran Canaria. Recently becoming an enthusiastic runner, I initially took part in a 10K and I am now looking to progress to Tough Mudder and Great North run.

I have gained level 3 and 4 (VTCT) massage qualifications, specialising in maintenance massage, Soft tissue release (STR), Trigger points massage and pre & post event massages. I have worked with a broad spectrum of clients within the college and university clinics and voluntarily at a variety of sporting events. Following my student placement at Tadcaster Physio & Sports Injuries Clinic and through helping at a number of local sporting events I have joined the team in 2016.

Tadcaster Physio has previously provided Sports Massage following a number of local sporting events including Tadcaster Sportive, Tadcaster Triathlon, The Tadcaster 10 and Bramham Park Fun Run.
