Following a successful period whereby we acted as a satellite clinic for students from York College Sports Therapy Department we are pleased to announce that we have taken Millie Bell on as a fully qualified Sports Massage Therapist. Millie completed a placement with us and quickly became a firm favourite with her clients; she has recently graduated with a degree in Sports Therapy.

How much is a session?
Our 30 minute session costs just £20.
What should I wear?
Ideally wear something loose fitting and/or shorts although it is likely that a degree of undressing will be required to work on particular body parts. You can be well covered in towels and patients are welcome to get changed in the clinic room before and after treatments.
Will it be painful?
The level of pressure and depth of massage will be regulated by your therapist depending on your problem, comfort level and personal preferences. You are encouraged to give feedback throughout your session. Please let the therapist know if you have an event coming up or if you have a specific niggle as special consideration will be given to how you will feel afterwards.
Are your massage therapists insured?
Millie is fully insured for professional liability.
Can I claim money back from Health Cash Plan companies, etc.?
Millie holds VTCT level 4 Massage qualifications most companies recognise this. She is also currently a member of the Society of Sports Therapists. To be certain please check with your individual insurer. A printed receipt can be forwarded on to you for claims purposes with all of this information included.
What if I have a more in-depth problem?
As our service is a sports massage service this does not include any assessment or any diagnostics. If you have a more long-standing or complicated problem it is recommended that you have an in-depth physiotherapy assessment. This should seek to provide more of an insight into what’s and whys as well as including sounder based advice and exercise.
If you would like a sports massage first to see if this can help your symptoms then we are more than happy to accommodate this as we know that not everyone wants a physiotherapy assessment. We work closely with Millie in order to develop on-going dialogue we believe that our patients will gain more from a joined up approach that a multi-disciplinary clinic has to offer.
Please call the clinic directly if you have any further questions or to book an appointment. Sessions are currently Wednesday between 5pm and 8:30pm.
I have just graduated from York College where I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy, achieving a 2:1.
I have competed in four piece and team-gym gymnastics for 12 years at regional and national level, a highlight of which was training in Italy and Gran Canaria. Recently becoming an enthusiastic runner, I initially took part in a 10K and I am now looking to progress to Tough Mudder and Great North run in 2017.
I have gained level 3 and 4 (VTCT) massage qualifications, specialising in maintenance massage, Soft tissue release (STR), Trigger points massage and pre & post event massages. I have worked with a broad spectrum of clients within the college and university clinics and voluntarily at a variety of sporting events. Following my student placement at Tadcaster Physio & Sports Injuries Clinic and through helping at a number of local sporting events I have joined the team offering a Friday night clinic.
Tadcaster Physio also provides Sports Massage following a number of local sporting events. We provide a free massage but encourage donations which go towards specific charities/good causes and have raised hundreds of pounds to date. We regularly have 3 or 4 ‘beds on the go’ at The Tadcaster Sportive, Tadcaster Triathlon, The Tadcaster 10 and Bramham Park Fun Run.
